~OZ~

June 22, 2005 - November 23, 2007

WICKED is the descendant guild of the infamous (or notorious) OZ: the little guild that stood up against Blizzard's GMs and their discriminatory actions toward the GLBT community.

One might say that OZ was the GLBT Friendly guild heard 'round the world, as this story quickly spread like wildfire across the internet, gaming magazines, the BBC, and even such large newspapers as The Washington Post!

WICKED owes much of it's success to our first guild, OZ. You might say that OZ was a learning experience, as it was definitely an experimental stage for two WoW fans that had never owned their own guild before (or even stuck with the same guild for more than a week, due to the constant barrages of "That's so gay!", which got old all too fast). Many mistakes were made with OZ, which lead to it's eventual disbandment in November of 2007 (shortly after the creation of WICKED). While WICKED is ever evolving and far from perfect (let's face it, there's no such thing as Utopia... even in Azeroth), we were able to avoid many of the same mistakes we made in OZ, helping to build the magnificent guild that you see today. So, this page is a tribute to the guild that started it all. Thank you for the good times, OZ. We remember you fondly.
